This little black dress has been in my closet for over 10 years. While most people resort to the LBD when they claim they have nothing to wear, I avoid it at all costs. The idea that black dresses are more flattering and hide imperfections is outdated. I think it makes the female figure look too plain because it hides the curves and shadows that make our figures look beautiful and unique.
I wore my LBD on this night becasue I didn't want to wear something more fashionable or vibrant than my friend on her birthday. It's her special day; she's the star; I can be background lol. After talking to my other friends, it seems they all were wearing black. So I decided to use this opportunity to get some use out of a top that I like but is cut just a smidge too short. The top breaks up the monotony of the LBD and becomes its own accessory.
I wore limited jewlelry--silver ring, a thin bangle and these large silver Gye earrings made from recycled aluminum cans. You can purchase a similar pair from local artist
ArtByCleatress on Etsy.com.
