Work to wear

The only good thing about working on the weekends is that you can wear whatever you want and still get paid. I wore this colorful print cotton dress, which I bought a couple years ago from either Ross or Rainbow, to work on a very warm Saturday anticipating a long day with no time to change. I ended up wearing this to a carnival and my best friend's play also.













Btw...Doesn't she look hottt in those liquid leggings ;-)


Diversity Days

To celebrate our diverse workforce, we held I diversity fashion show. I am wearing a traditional style Chinese dress called a Qi Pao. It was created during the roaring 20s primarily for the wealthy and aristocracy but has since become a symbol of Chinese womens and formal fashion.

30 Under 30       I have been grinding hard this year trying to get my business off the ground that I've neglected the simple pleasure of writing and blogging. I've been thinking a lot about what I want for myself. After taking a homebuyer's class, I feel really empowered and focused. I know how to navigate the scary home buying and credit repair processes and I am making plans to succeed. the most important thing for me to do at this point is to make/retain more money to pay off my debt, whilst saving money for the house. The Tie Belt 12/15/11

Nothing says feminine like silk and satin (among other things), so I've added this thrifted silk magenta tie to my leopard print skirt by wearing it as a belt. Its a nice touch because its brighter than the burgundy cardigan and black camisole yet it still seems to blend overall. The skirt is from JC Penney's Worthington Collection and the sparkling cardigan is from H&M. These pumps were thrifted, cost be $3.00! They're synthetic but don't they look cool with the studs. These are great for days like today when its a little wet because the synthetics are waterproof. You can find a lot of antique looking jewelry like this beaded necklace at the thrift store. It def needed some cleaning and polishing but was worth it.

Typical Tuesday 11/29/11

Usually my Tuesday work wear is a little more professional than Mondays'. On Mondays I try to make my outfit pop to get rid of the blues. Although I'm not a huge fan of red or black clothing, I am pleased with the way the two worked out. I paired grey trousers from one of my favorite stores, New York and Company, with a nlack printed top from another one of my favorite stores, J C Penny. I then put on this red 3/4 ruched sleeve jacket from another great store, Charlotte Russe, for that pop. I stepped into these green and black suede kitten heels gifted from mom, though, she is non-the-wiser :) I finished my look with a necklace thrifted several years ago and beaded cluster earrings thrifted this weekend. While these accessories have a very 60-something feel, they work well with the "pop star" professional look and are quite simply very pretty.
