Tightfisted Fashion

In an effort to look like an older lady (lol) I employed this black and white knit skirt from a suit, a pea green sweater, thin gold belt and pointed flats to work for me. I also twisted my hair...likey

Today, I'm feeling rather festive with all this sunny weather. I'm wearing these wide leg polyester pants with a mustard polyester top, mostly for the color but also because I don't like mixing other fabrics with polyester. I'm still not over my obsession with scarves and wraps as you can see. <--This clothes stand was gifted from my cousin; it is also the new man in my life :P Same orange polyester pants circa 2003

 It would be easy to pair these gold striped khaki trousers with white blouse and a brown or similarly colored khaki blazer, but I have to be different right :) Here, I am wearing a thrifted snake skin printed blouse and a grey jacket.  This skirt is rather sheer (winter taboo...HA!), but I don't want to wait until spring to wear it again so I am wearing leggings underneath and tall leather slouch boots. I am wearing this "smedium" sweater as a top because its so tight I can't really wear it over anything. Initially, I tied the tie like a bowtie with a big bow and intended to wear it as a headband. I like the way it sits here, quietly covering the cleavage.  Same printed blouse. Same sweater and boots.  Wearing these white pants--also a winter taboo--as riding pants for more of a jockey-esque look

I'm wearing snake printed tights with a pretty off-shoulder long sleeve shirt. Its cold so the jacket is not just for fashion. The bow tie is a bonus because its fun; I tore it from a headband I never wore much. It kinda looks like a butterfly the way it hangs actually.  I like this striped dress ($12 from Macy's juniors) because the waist is pattered like one of those optical illusions we used to play with as a child :) The illusion we are creating here is slimness because I ate so much that the collards, black-eyed peas and mac-n-cheese pouch seem invisible lol. Partying with rook Chykie Brown of the AFC East Div winning Baltimore Ravens --looking just like a young Morris Chestnut  :)

  My Day started out less than fab as I was forced to run errands for a new years party. What can I say...I make some mean deviled eggs...and the people need me! lol I'm wearing a thrifted plaid button-down, old Kmart jeans, gifted cotton jacket, a leather belt from my stay in China and a hat I crocheted. The necklace that I am holding is actually the chain to a purse that didn't live to see 2012 with an old clip-on earring that lost its twin. Besides family time and drinking champagne, I didn't do anything spectacular. I went on a date with myself to watch the fireworks then treated myself to an amazing view of the sunrise over the harbor. Its been getting cooler and I knew I would be bar-hopping so I paired this turtleneck (yes I said turtleneck) with these stretchy pants. I put a silk hankercheif in the jacket pocket for pop and additional color.
