Ladies Tea Party

Image
Ladies Tea Party Be-autiful :D How do you prepare an amazing ladies tea party...? Do something different to create a recipe for success . I had the best ladies tea party this weekend! We had delicious food, played games, had mini contests, crafted something cool, fellowships without the drama and enjoyed being a woman. I invited some friends of mine with businesses and hired a massuer to help my guests relax. We sipped tea (of the Long Island variety hehehe) and took pictures. I got to see friends I haven't seen in years and meet new ones that I hope to keep in touch with.   Be supportive : Invite your entreprenuer friends to introduce your guests to their new ventures, network and build capital. B e easy: Invite a massuer for a relaxing massage or a nail technition to do manicures and pedicures for your guests. Be fancy: Ask your favorite consultant to showcase her health and beauty items...jewelry by Traci Lynn or makeover skills

Artscape 2012        Cool 3D art  Improv Rock Opera performance---pretty cool idea actually  My shadow says love in sign language :) Reggae Jerk Fest First Annual, was a very good start, with good food. Weekly Wonders  Three ways to wear this look. Orange skinnies with thrifted snake skin print silk blouse. Q: which one did I choose for my nite out?? A: The tucked in look buttoned halfway This is the bag and bangle that I bought at Artscape. I like the bold print and the design. The bag is allegedly made in Ghana (need to verify that, but still nice and well made nonetheless. Sported this outfit at my sisters AAU basketball game. Someday she'll be as much of a beauty beast as me haha. Bless her.   I got this dress from Ross as a hot date dress but ended up being my sexy work dress. Cornrow fauxhak with twists

Seeing Double This time I took a look from one of the bloggers I follow Ms Monique from SoFull Sista . I like how these thrifted threads (pants and blouse) look new again with the right combination of colors. She's a natual woman like me; I adorned my mini fro with a headband and two cheetah print flowers. Day                                                                                                 Nite Some fashion rules are meant to be broken or at least bent. One rule that I loathe is that business wear has to be so....so boring and lifeless...so black and blue and gray...khaki and white...plaid and pinstripe...agh. I've added a touch of coral to my look with a cinch of brown. I rewarded myself with a drink or two at a local bar. Wore this denim skirt and mesh top like bait and got hooked on a mango martini. Next time I'll catch a man lmao. Day

Fro-out   I don't have long thick curly hair like I see so often on TV and on the internet. I have the steel wool, kinky kind of hair that doesn't easily wash-n-go or retain a lot of moisture...but its mine! So, I have to fool my hair into curling. With all the products I've used over the years, I've assembled the best below. My regimine goes like this: First I wet and rake through my hair with my fingers to loosen the kinks. Then, I pick it out with an afro pick and shea butter conditioner. To make my hair appear curly, I either rod set, coil, twist, braid or cornrow my dampened hair with styling lotion before bed. Then I cover it with a silk scarf and secure it with an old-fashion stocking cap. In the morning I add moiturrizer and go. The best hair care products I've ever used: 1. Shea butter leave-in conditioner/lotion by Cantu 2. Oil moisturizer by Africa's Best 3. Silky Set styling lotion by Africa's Best

Happy 4th!

My bestie rocking a hot summer dress Why I love it: Besides the obvious (that my homegirl looks good in it) its very trendy. First off, the maxi dress is in style this season. Second, the stripes are timelessly fashionable. Third, neon colors are also in style and look great on darker complexions.   Baby I'm a firework! My Independance Day look is comprosed of a tight floral red thrifted skirt (florals are in this season) and a plain black cami. The black belt and beaded necklace were also thrifted, the peep toe pumps--gifted.
