Into the Wild

Whilst party hopping amid some of DC's coolest rooftop venues, I learned how comfy these wedges can be, esp since most of the clubs did not have an elevator. In the words of my fab friend B (below) *YIKES* When life gives you Lemons I love the vibrant yellow pants trend. I like how they make your legs glow...literally. They are a nice retreat from the dullness of blue jeans and denim. Whats more is that they compliment many skin tones because you can go as light as pale yellow or as dark as a deep canary yellow and still have the same effect. I am wearing these yellow pants (on sale for $40 at Nordstrom's Rack ) with a tank I got from Forever 21 a few seasons ago. I wore it with a tailored blazer and yellow heels to make it "workable". But without the jacket its quite light and "playful".      I would love to be able to wear camo to work and keep my job. Camo is like the epitome of badass--tough and subversive! While camof

I'm definately not a vegan/vegetarian but sometimes I try to eat healthier like I am one. I decided to try this recipe  but I didn't have all the ingredients. I think my recipe is more practical and much easier for people to try/make since the ingredients can be found in most cabinets. What do we think??     Zakiya's "Vegan" Mac & Cheese   Prep time: 10 mins Cook time: 15 mins Total time: 25 mins Ingredients 1/4 cup walnuts 1/4 cup yeast 1 medium onion curry powder 1 tbsp paprika salt and pepper to taste 1 garlic clove 3/4 cups soy or evaporated milk 1 tbsp cornstarch 1/4 cup oil 2 tbsp soy butter 1 tbsp lemon/lime juice 6-8oz pasta, cooked   Instructions Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth. Pour "nut cheese" sauce into sauce pan and simmer over high heat. Decrease heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes, or until mixture bubbles.   When you figure out what you want to do with your life, its a magical moment. I have decided not to settle and to my own boss. I have decided to engage in something that is both rewarding and lucrative. Now all I need is capital. Big dreams don't come easily, but it feels great when you have a handle on this. Now what does that have to do with this image? Well this is how I see myself...elegant, unique, classy and successful. In order for me to get there, I need to "see" myself as such. This image is my inspiration and my future.    Thrifted: purple suede almond toe heels  Thrifted: jewelry and purse  Thrifted: slingbacks    My favorite restaurant/lounge celebrated 10 years of good business...black-owned business to boot. It was supposed to be a white party; but you know me, not being the one to conform, I wore this pastel strapless and skirt with this newly thrifted necklace I love. I also wore it because its one of the shortest

Oddly enough...  For some reason I wore this top and sweater within a few days of each other, which  is odd for me considering I have so many clothes and I have a blog that documents what I wear each day. Idk what happened here lol. I'm glad I improved on my look at least.,,those pants are so plain and basice right?! I think this will be called my attention-getting skirt...for obvious reasons...  The weather has been...schizophrenic....even apocolyptic lately! Idk how to prepare for the end. I barely know how to dress for it. I decided to at least save my suede shoes and my hair...just in case. Thrifted: vest and blazer  As soon as I stepped out of my apt...down came the rain. I promptly made my way back inside to change shoes. I'll be damned if I'm going to purposely ruin these heels hahahaha. Thrifted: Skirt, tank top is actually an athletic top

Business Professional vs. Business Casual (all thrifted, minus the old brown AE tee) Tiny belts are a simple way to give you definition in the waist especially with long shirts.
